2009 Suzuki Bandit 650SA with Mivv Oval exhaust (with DB killer)
Bandit 650 is extremely quiet with the stock exhaust and this adds some needed volume and bass down low. :) There's a nice deep gurgle now riding at low revs between 3000 and 4000, and it's still not audible over wind noise at 5000revs in 6th (62mph/100kmh) so it won't give you a headache when touring. Honestly I wasn't expecting it to sound this nice and I actually bought it only for weight savings (the stock exhaust is huge and heavy) and looks.
If I ever remove the DB killer I'll record a new video.

How many km's you get with one tank of fuel?
Hey, mystery enthusiast! If real stories don't grab your attention, watch the latest crime documentary video. This video will surprise you and make you think!

Thank you for contributing. I'm sure someone will find this helpful.
it has quite a punch at 60, even 80kmh, you can take over a car in no time... top speed is in 140 range, but of course after 100 it takes some time to achieve it, but i never take it above 115-120
It was impressive for a 300 when it came out, since it was much faster then it's closest rivals (the piaggio quasar 278cc based scooters). It's def a great scooter, even today.
Not even close
@@davesogn3329 well, as a proud owner i stand behind my comment, of course if you have a windshield and baggage and 120kg and worn rollers it goes slower
@@albirdie1630 Really 140 miles an hour not km

Not bad for a scooter.
It was the fastest accelerating 300cc scooter at the time. Far from "not bad".
@@dbauernf far from not bad meaning its was good or bad?
@@nomorebang If it's "the fastest" - it's good, no?
@@nomorebang Anyways, I tried the People and Downtown with the same engine and ended up buying the Downtown, but sometimes wish I got the People. People was more comfortable (which you'd never guess looking at both), but eventually ended up going with Downtown because of the larger fuel tank, storage and wind protection. Also, it handled better in the twisty stuff when riding fast (I 'downgraded' from a Ninja 650 to this at the time).
@@dbauernf 650 looks more comfortable, I never rode one only sat on it, why did you go to a scooter?
great video, what is your grinder?
Heya! Thanks! I use a Lelit Fred PL043MMI.
Top speed?
I always had a huge windscreen and topcase on, so my top speed runs were always lower then stock bike would be, and I was over 100kg at the time (225lbs). My bike did anywhere from 150 to 155km/h indicated without the big windscreen and topcase but I've added them pretty much after a few days from purchase and all my transmission mods were done with both of those on. Stock transmission bike with the huge windscreen and topcase dropped down from the mentioned 150-155 to 137-140, and I've seen up to 145-147 with different setups (stock cvt with Dr Pulley sliders, malossi variator with 20g, 23g, 25g regular rollers and 23g dr pulley sliders which were the best choice for me). I was never concerned with top speed so I didn't take note of it. I wanted lower cruising revs then stock at speeds around 110-120km/h, and better acceleration to 100km/h then stock. Basically, any of the mods helped with that. The 20g weights (which come stock with the multivar) were revving out too fast for me.
@@dbauernf I have everything original with only 14g dr pulleys. I am satisfied but I would like to increase the performance more. In this video with the 20g rollers have you also mounted the white spring malossi?
@@simoneruffini86 I honestly don't recall. I work at a bike/scooter shop and mess around with that stuff daily, and this was many years ago. Bottom line is, my scoot went from 11 to 9 seconds from 0 to 100km/h just with the 14g Dr Pulleys that you now have, and I've only gotten another second faster with the Malossi CVT at the expense of the bike revving A WHOLE LOT faster all the time. Performance is nice, but if you need A LOT more and CONSTANTLY need it, you just need a faster bike. There's only so much that you can get out of 28hp. Malossi with 20g was a noticeable improvement, but I was perhaps happier with the way JCosta variator worked on a different scoot (Xciting 500). That would be my go-to CVT now if I was looking for performance on a scooter.
Proslo je vremena znam...jos ga cuvas ? Moze se meriti sa yamaha ili piaggio ?
Cuvam?

No, it's the S2 version made from 2007 to 2009 which was available only as the full 98hp as far as I'm aware.
Thats pretty good stoppage
Glad you enjoyed it!
hey, i want to know what kind of grinder do you use :)
Hello. I've got the Lelit Fred which seems to be the cheapest espresso specific grinder with stepless adjustment. It's absolutely great, even with my Gaggia Classic.
@@dbauernf Thank you so much your information😊
@@inmokim49 No worries! <3

i there, I counted the time it took you to extract the coffee, it was around 30 seconds (which is ideal and what I am targetting). I have a bottomless portafiler, I changed the bean grind to about 10 different grind sizes, the longest time I could get coffee extraction is only 10 seconds on very fine grind (about the mark on the grind adjustment). All other grind sizes only gets about 5 seconds extraction. Very frustrating for me and I have wasted 1/4 kilo of coffee already! Any tips how to get 30 second extraction?
Your grinder is probably not made for espresso so even the finest grind setting isn't fine enough. Can't be anything else really, other then maybe forgetting to tamp the coffee or using too small of a dose? I'm usually between 14 and 15g.
Fantastic vídeo Im your fan now for sure Subscribe my small channel too Keep the awesome work always Best regards God bless you
Hi, I have the same portafilter and machine. During extraction, some water will overflow from the side of the portafilter and drip to the glass. Have you experienced it too? Any advice? Thanks, cool vid 😊
I haven't had that happen but it's probably due to a worn out group head gasket. I've noticed my bottomless portafilter is a tighter fit then the original one and I expect it's going to wear down the gasket sooner. Should be available in shops that sell the De'Longhi for a few $.
@@dbauernf Thank you :)
@@r3con23 Np, good luck.
I just got a agility 125 and I previously owned just a chineese 125cc and man I can't begin to tell you how much faster the kymco is. its crazy the difference. my friend owns a chineese 150 and he thought I was crazy when I said mine is faster. and the look on his face when I blew past him lol. bought it used with 4900 miles and the thing is SOLID
LOL, yeah, and it's only 9hp or so, it's not even remotely the fastest 125 out there, but accelerates nicely because it's not heavy. Replacing stock 14g weight with lighter 12-13g Dr Pulley sliders does wonders for it too.
So how much difference is there in the taste from original bast and this ?? Specially when milk. Is added
While you have control over extraction with an unpressurised basket with grind and dose size, with the original one you don't. Those 2 parameters will affect taste, but in what way will depend on the coffee you use. If you meant how does the bottomless portafilter affect taste - it doesn't. Milk has nothing to do with it either.
@@dbauernf i meant the basket yes.. Not the porta filter.. I really find differencr in taste with different milk. So i have a delonghi grinder. Which to me grinds quite fine when. Compared to pre ground coffee. Can i use that for this kind of basket.. I want to try it once. I ordered in thw past but due to pandemic never recieved. But if there is an obvious difference then i will order again.
2020 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Thanks for posting the video. I also have the same portafilter as yours. How much coffee do you put in your basket? Do you use a leveler for this? If so, how did you calibrate it?
The amount of coffee depends on the coffee type I use. It's anywhere between 14 and 16g in the double basket. Not sure what you mean about calibrating the leveler. I do distribute the coffee evenly, of course, and tamp it properly to avoid channeling.
Hi! Im looking into getting a replacement as well, as long as the portafilter at a local shop, as long as the portafilter is 51mm it should fit right?
There's probably different types of mounts at every size, I wouldn't expect every single one to fit, no.
@@dbauernf Perfect thank you!
Hey friend, i just received this same portafilter and im trying times and grind size to get a perfect extraction like yours. With 15.5g of grind cofee how do you fill the filter? i feel like it is hard to even fill 14g, 15.5g isn't too much for this basket? And another question, when you get that fine in grind size don't you feel like the machine is drowned? When i get the portafilter some water keeps inside and goes off.
That would depend on the coffee used and grind size. Sure you can choke the machine if you go too fine. I'm currently using 14g for a medium roast specialty coffee, I've used as much as 17g with no issues for a cheap/stale supermarket bought coffee. Some water in the portafilter after brewing is normal since the EC685 doesn't have a 3way solenoid valve to flush it all out.
Ma che roba posti ? Ma daii
Is the bottomless portofilter changes coffee taste tooo much? Or it is not necessary?
The portafilter is just visual, in this case it is naked so you can appreciate if the leveling an tamping are correct by seeing the water flow. However it is highly recommended to change the original pressurized filter basket to a non-pressurized basket. This last thing does affect to your coffe taste and texture cause the water flows slower than using pressurized filters.
Santi replied exactly what I would have. It has nothing to do with taste.
Hi, did you change the preset extraction time? My machine stops extracting around 15 seconds
Same problem
Make sure you are using double dose and non-pressurized basket, and just use the double dose extraction, if you want more coffee keep the button pressed.
To preset your machine just hold on the double shot button for as long as you want, that will save the timing and automatically use it for the next shot. Although, I find it better not to preset the extraction time and rather hold down the button every time I brew a new shot.
I'm usually holding the button down for as long as I want the extraction to last, which is typically 25-30 seconds not counting the preinfusion time in my case.
Mia Dimšić?
Yep!
hi, I have the same portafilter but cant get any crema. Do you have any recommendations?
You're likely using stale/old coffee.
Crema depends on what kind of coffee are you using, some make more crema. Also make sure you are using a non-pressurized filter
the hp are not that high but the torque makes it move. It has been an amazing co-worker for almost 50.000kms including towing a Smart for over 2500kms, with trailer over 8.000kms and always with 400-500Kg on board + driver. Consumption from 4.8 (empty) to 10L with 1050Kg trailer higher than the car going 130kmh in France. Around 8L with a Smart on trailer at 100-110kmh. Just great co-worker!
Agreed, it has very usable power. I went from this to a Fiat Doblo Maxi that was 90hp/200Nm which was even better.
@@dbauernf I can imagine it is even better specially when the turbo is full. I am searching for upgrading my motor (maybe a 110dci swap)

I wish I could show you my baby young sparrow watching yours watching the documentary! hahaha also I have a question, did you happen to have him since a baby? if yes, at what age do they start to pluck feathers or change them?
Regina Stellarum He was a few weeks old, yes. Never noticed a feather change in years.
Great musician, have you seen last week in Dubrovnik in the Gaffe - great performance!
what is your top speed with this set up?
Top speed did not change with either of the mods. Stock 15.5g, Dr pulley 14g, Malossi with 20g round rollers, 25 round rollers and 23g Dr Pulleys. Given some wind, big windscreen and a big top case, the dr pulley 14g setup had the hardest time maintaining anything over 135km/h, and with the malossi and a lot higher revs it would always hit at least 140. But again, in ideal conditions, with the stock screen and no topcase, regardless of the CVT setup, it would reach 145-150 indicated. Dr Pulley 14gr in stock CVT and 23g Dr Pulleys in Malossi were best setups (malossi being the better one out of the two).
thank you very much for your response. i have the malossi variator and iam thinking about 20g dr pulleys ... i prefer the standar top speed with the best acceleration that i can get . but i want at 120 km/h the revs between 6.800-7000 you think i can have that with this set up? malossi and dr pulley 20-21 gr?
It's been years and I don't really recall the revs at 120, but I believe they were about 500 lower the stock cvt /rollers. The malossi comes with 20gr regular rollers, and the difference in acceleration to 100km/h between 20gr regulars and 23g was 8 vs 9 seconds. I could live with that drop in acceleration to get lower overall revs. I don't mind 6500 vs 7000 on the highway, but very high revs of the 20gr setup was annoying around town for me. Sliders "kick in" around 100km/h on this scooter so your revs after 100km/h should be about the same regardless of the weight of the sliders, and 20 will give you the fastest acceleration for sure (WOT at 8000 revs). 23gr is WOT at 7500 revs.
Btw, you might still lose a bit of top speed as the bike will rev lower and any wind resistance will slow you down easier then with 20gr regular rollers. DT300 has very low torque. XC500 that I ride now has virtually zero issues with this, even tho it's faster by like 5km/h only.
And what aboyt the difference betweeen rollers and sliders? are sliders better ???
hello I'm buying the same I love but I wonder if the doctor gives pulley acceleration without losing top speed can you give max speed is before after the change and the size of Dr. pulley good thank you evening to you to France
very nice
Not enough videos of this bike online man thanks!
Cojo majstore!
Ajde Cojo!
mine only goes to 100 on straight road
+Patrick Nelson Mine did 105 to 117km/h depending on the wind direction and strength but the speedo is VERY optimistic (over 10% off at 100km/h). This was with stock, 14g rollers. I had a 12.4g setup too which made it misfire at 100km/h but the acceleration was better. I think I'd use 13g dr pulley sliders if I kept the scooter for best of both worlds. It's a great scooter.
its goes really fast until about 90 km after that its struggling so i think i willl go for something more balanced also since i dont ride in cities often so all this acceleration is not needed for me i want it to be more relaxed at distances
+Patrick Nelson I had this as a city only bike parked next to a 650cc Kawasaki so.. yeah.. I would look at anything below 15-20 horsepower for outside the city.
+dbauernf i want an easy bike maybe will look for a 250 cc scooter at the future for now Kymco is fine though
I had a downtown 300 too. It was great.
